Sorry for the late message, but I am interested in the serial to USB adapter from Knight0fDragon.
I would like to offer this adapter to privateye, so is it possible for it to be sent in the same parcel as the one requested in post #56 ?
_CARTDMPDAT and _CARTDMPHDR are saves generated by "indirect dump" feature of Save Data Manager. This feature allows to export the contents of a backup memory cartridge to another cartridge on the same slot by using Saturn internal backup memory as a temporary copy area.
As a consequence, the...
My entry is "Jacky Car" which is a racing game adapted from the eponym game for TI calculators here : Ti-Fr v3 !
Basically, it's like OutRun, but viewed from top, and without beaches, and without open cars too. It also shares some common points with PONG (regarding the lack of fancy graphics)...
It is a pleasure to announce that Pseudo Saturn Kai v6.541 is released and available on my homepage :)
https://ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/#download
In addition of Action Replay and other clones of cartridges, Pseudo Saturn Kai also supports some optical disc emulators so please have fun with it...
(Just for the information : this issue was caused by Save Data Manager wrongly thinking that it was booting from an environment with Satiator ODE already initialized and because of that it was endlessly waiting from the answer of a command to Satiator which was causing the almost black screen on...
@privateye reported me this issue recently and there was similar reports on other SNS too, so your CD-ROM drive is not going bad. Please don't trash it.
I will try to fix this issue but TBH I have no idea of what is causing that. If lucky then it shall be fixed in next public release :)
SaveRepack utility should be helpful for you : from PC utility, just select the save files and generate an iso file that can be played on real hardware or emulator. And from there, the selected saves can be copied by using "Save Data Import" feature.
More information is available here : SEGA...
It's not a problem related to laser because in that case the contents from CD-ROM would either be unreadable at all or the disc would be spinning strangely etc.
As you can see on the screen capture, there's a difference of 16 characters between the corrupted characters displayed on screen and...
Dragon Force II not working with some cartridges from ebay or aliexpress is a known issue :
https://ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/compat/#hw_issues
Basically, this is caused by the messy PCB routing of the cartridge. Pseudo Saturn Kai itself and your Saturn are unlikely to be at the root of the problem.
Some speedup tricks :
- When dumping internal backup memory or cartridge, bytes at even address are FFh and consequently don't need to be dumped.
- Bit shift on Saturn is not super efficient, so instead you may want to use a mask table and do an AND to get the status of each bits.
- If not...
Yes, it still rules !! I sell USB dev carts but I keep my own cart :)
Thank you !! The main reason why I'm hurrying is to send the carts before the shipping fee increase on June 1st. So feel free to remove the thread on the front page after that time.
Sorry to hijack this thread but this is to inform that I have (a few) USB dev carts available for sale on my blog :
https://ppcenter.webou.net/devblog/article148/usb-dev-cart-flash-sale-2022-05-17
First public release of USB dev cart was more or less 10 years ago, so let's consider this as an...
Thank you :)
@TheIceberg : Compatibility settings will be updated in next release of Pseudo Saturn Kai. Until that moment, please push Z button while selecting "Start Game" in boot menu to run these games, as indicated by @privateye.
This was made to remove the need of an extra hardware when wanting to import Saturn save data, so Psuedo Saturn lite is enough to work and in fact Psuedo Saturn is not mandatory for this to work : a modchip or swap trick will do the job.
Usage example when playing a game on emulator and want to...
To sum up things simply, compatibility issues are weirder than expected :) As it's not possible to do some testing, please wait for the next occasion privateye and me will have to use a cartridge featuring expansion memory.
As you were reporting about expansion RAM, Action Replay stock firmware and RMENU utility I was about to reply something like "flaky hardware and not my problem" ( :D ) but after thinking a bit more it looks like Saturn BIOS is not caring about expansion RAM access when doing a soft reset. If...
PM sent :) I do confirm it's a game changer for Dezaemon 2 because it enables 10 user game slots (5 on cartridge and 5 others on emulated FDD) while other solutions are limited to 5 slots or less if game data is too large for the cartridge.
